Mardi Himal Trek - 21 Days

Though Mardi Himal Trek is not much explored as any other trail in Annapurna Region, it is most beautiful and Exotic Trekking Route that offers the best view of Mt. Machhapuchhre (fish tail) the summit of which is similar to the tail of fish. It is the eco-tourism based trek that leads to the foot of Machhapuchhre. Mardi Himal Trek is an opportunity to escape from the tourist trail exploring beautiful forest of birch, Rhododendrons, hemlock, and the high alpine pastures that border the Annapurna Ranges, traditional villages, diverse culture. The main attraction of this trekking is the marvelous Himalayan scenery of  Machhapuchhre (6988m) Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m),Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m),  etc. From Mardi Himal you see the tempting view of Pokhara Valley. The main focus of this trekking is hiking in the wilderness and forest of this zone.

After a short drive from Pokhara to Phedi real trekking begins.  This trekking takes you as close as possible to the enchanting Machhapuchhre which has not been submitted. From there you enter the Dhumpus Village, a Gurung village where you get the opportunity to know their unique culture and tradition. From this village you see the panoramic view of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. Then you ascend hill passing through awestruck forest of birch and rhododendron. The main attraction of this trek are Wildlife observation, flora & founa, vistas of Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu and  Dhaulagiri etc. You pass through different village crossing streams by suspension bridges, green terraced farmlands and forest inhibited by different wildlife. During the trekking you enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the village people.  As you climb up the panorama expands and you feel the great joy seeing dazzling view of the snow capped mountain. From the peak, you return through different route to the upper Mardi Khola.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02:  Rest day at Kathmandu

Day 03:  30 minutes flight or 6 hrs drive to Pokhara

Day 04:  Pokhara to Lamachour (9,90m)

Day 05:  Lamachour to Lhachok (1000m)

Day 06:  Lhachok to Lalghar Kharka (1500m)

Day 07:  Lalghar Kharka to Juction Kharka (2300m)

Day 08:  Juction Kharka to Kumai (3050m)

Day 09:  Kumai to Korchen (3682m)

Day 10:  Korchen to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4120m)

Day 11:  Mardi Himal Base Camp to High Camp (4660m)

Day 12:  Rest day at High camp II for acclimatization

Day 13:  High Camp I to High Camp II (5120m)

Day 14:  High Camp II to Summit Mardi Himal (5587m)

Day 15:  High camp II to Korchen (3682m)

Day 16:  Korchen to Junction (2300m)

Day 17:  Junction to Kangmang (1100m)

Day 18:  Kangmang to Pokhara

Day 19:  Pokhara to Kathmandu

Day 20:  Rest day at Kathmandu

Day 21:  Departure for your destination
